31.01.2015 CONSTRUCTION: FIRST STAGES OF MAKING OUR IDENT
In class, Agatha, Sophie and I continued making our Ident for our film opening. After unintenionally putting our indent filming to one side, we decided that it would be appropriate for us to continue filming it with our Hue HD Camera on iStopMotion.

30.01.2015 CONSTRUCTION: FILMING
In class, my film opening group filmed at the Nuffield Health Centre. We filmed a flashback scene of when our main character, India, was kidnapped by the antagonist, kidnapper Jack.
One part of the scene we found hard to film at times was how we were going to show India's face without her eyes being visible (we want to create a mysterious, illegible feeling towards her kidnapper, making it appear like her flashback is a brutal reminder of how her life has never been the same since). We didn't want her eyes to be visible when Jack crept up behind her - as shown in the clip above. This would imply that her kidnapping was totally unexpected and a shocking experience for India. In order to prevent her eyes from being on show, we held the camera (whilst on the tripod) slightly below her eyeline. However, we found that the best shots (without her eyes on show) were shots that weren't planned or just practice shots!
We also found that the bright sunlight was making it difficult to film facing the sun, so we decided that turning the camera around to face the opposite direction was a way in which we could prevent the sunlight impacting our shots creating a blur effect.
I have made a collection of the photos I took on set into a photo collage using, Fotor - a free photo editing software online. I also uploaded photos I have taken onto our film openings Instagram and my personal media twitter page.

25.01.2015 RESEARCH: USING SOCIAL MEDIA SITES - FACEBOOK
I presented my research as posts uploaded or posts being written intended to be uploaded onto Facebook. A member of my film opening group made a Facebook page for our film opening, The Unhinging. We upload recent photos and informative posts on our film opening on Facebook.
I have made my presentation in SlideShare. Please click onto 'full screen' mode as the photos will be easier to see.
25.01.2015 RESEARCH: USING SOCIAL MEDIA SITES - TWITTER
I presented my research of Twitter as tweets uploaded onto Twitter or tweets intended to be tweeted. A member of my film opening group has made a Twitter page for our film opening, The Unhinging. We regularly upload photos, tweet about recent shoots or information regarding our film opening on Twitter.
I have made my presentation into a SlideShare. Please click onto 'full screen' mode as the photos will be easier to see.

24.01.2015 RESEARCH: USING SOCIAL MEDIA SITES - INSTAGRAM
I presented my research of Instagram as 'photos' uploaded onto Instagram, including the opening photo (taken of my iPad with the Instagram homepage). I have taken screen shots of photos I have made with my research written, typed or displayed (on my phone, iPad or computer) using pictures, uploaded to Instagram.
I have created an Instagram page for my film opening and regularly update it with photos. I have made my presentation into a SlideShare. Please click onto 'full screen' mode as the photos will be easier to see.
24.01.2015 RESEARCH: MAKE UP EXPERIMENTING - BRUISES
In the lesson, Agatha, Demi, Sophie and I experimented with possible make up ideas for my main character, India. We decided that using an eye shadow formula would be easier than waxy, water-resistant, oil based make up as it would be easier to blend into a sheer look therefore making it appear realistic, believable to be bruises.
I noticed that if we blended colours such as turquoise and neon, blue with earthier tones such as mustard yellow/brown, mossy green and light purple it creates a bruise that has purple undertones, making it appear that, India, has been recently bruised by abuse. I realised that we could do this layering of colours (and blending out to a sheer wash of colours) around the eyes, on the neck, arms and under the chin or across the cheeks.
I made this photo collage on PicMonkey, an online photo collage free software, to present the pictures I took in class.

18.01.2015 PLANNING: MIRROR SHOT
In class, Agatha, Demi, Sophie and I discussed the ways in which we would successfully shoot our antagonist, Jack, looking into a mirror without the camera being in focus. We agreed that the reflection of Jack should be clear, vivid, in focus and easily recognisable as him. As we are in the process of filming scenes we wanted to make sure we were prepared to shoot this particular scene correctly as it can cost valuable time if we come across difficulties such as the camera being in shot of the mirror coincidently, the character Jack isn't in focus or the mirror is reflecting brightly creating a 'beam' of light shining into the camera therefore ruining a take.
Therefore, we came to the agreement that we should tilt the mirror (Demi is holding the mirror at the back of the photo) to the opposite side of the camera. For example, if I am holding the camera (I am on the right side of the photo), the mirror, reflecting Agatha's image (sitting in front of the mirror), should be tilted to the left. As a result, the camera isn't in view. We will take this into account when we are filming so we ideally get this shot in one take.
