03.12.2014 RESEARCH: PINTEREST - HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT REPRESENT PARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUPS?

I have started to research different social groups and stereotypes in my film opening on Pinterest. I have selected/ pinned images of suggested stereotypes in my film opening or images that I have found inspiring. My film opening doesn't have many specific stereotypes such as geeks, 'airhead' blondes, jock, housewife but includes:

1. The young innocent girl who also has a bad side - wears gothic, dark, statement makeup, gothic style
2. The young innocent girl who self harms due to the emotional scarring over being abused by an adult (she is haunted by the adults physical actions against her)
3. The young, mentally disturbed 'kidnapper' who aesthetically looks 'normal' - behind closed doors he has a dark secret of holding young girls hostage in the basement of his house and a criminal record of kidnapping and murders.

From completing this research on Pinterest, it has inspired me further to create believable characters. Finding inspiring images such as bruises, cuts from victims of self harming, troubled girls crying or girls gothically dressed gives me ideas to elaborate my film opening further and possibly make changes to scenes using different types of shots.
